Dewar’s has announced Caribbean Smooth, an 8 year old blended Scotch whisky finished in Caribbean rum casks. Caribbean Smooth is the first expression in a new line of cask-finished whiskies that Dewar’s will be rolling out over the next few years. Earlier this year, the SWA (Scotch Whisky Association) amended their rules to broaden the types of casks that can be used to mature Scotch whisky, and Dewar’s has hinted that they’re experimenting with these new casks. Perhaps we’ll see Tequila, Mezcal, and Calvados finished expressions from Dewar’s in the near future? Caribbean Smooth is described as having “subtle notes of apple, caramel, and biscuity cereal that slips into dark brown sugar and tropical fruit.” Dewar’s Caribbean Smooth launches on October 1st and carries a suggested retail price of $21.99 for a 750 mL bottle. document.getElementById(“comment”).setAttribute( “id”, “a3a7ea6d632b95b46381c4230a594b15″ );document.getElementById(“h874ac3e5a”).setAttribute( “id”, “comment” ); Receive the latest news and reviews from One More Dram, delivered directly to your inbox once a month. 1.1l Carbon Fiber Cylinde...

Samsung Electronics Unveils Industry’s First 0.7- μm Pixel Image Sensor – 비즈니스코리아

The tech giant took the wraps off the ISOCELL Slim GH1, the industry’s first 0.7-micrometer (μm) pixel image sensor, on Sept. 24. The company launched the world’s first 1.0-µm pixel image sensor in 2015, firing the first salvo in the competition for miniaturization of image sensors. It introduced the world’s first 0.9-µm pixel product in 2017 and the world’s first 0.8-µm pixel product last year. Once again, the company has overcome the limits of micro-processing technology by releasing a 0.7-µm pixel image sensor. The new image sensor has 43.7-million 0.7-µm pixels in a super-small package. It can reduce the camera module size and thickness compared to using a sensor with the same number of 0.8- µm pixels, so it is optimized for mobile devices requiring a slim design and high resolution. 10.6um Wavelength Co2 Laser Tube 80w Suppliers for Sale Recently, many new smartphones are adopting a bezelless design with the display taking up 90 percent of the front. This trend is expected to fuel demand for image sensors that can hold more pixels in a limited space. However, as the size of a pixel becomes smaller, the amount of light received by the image sensor decreases and ...

Despite Devinci’s relative obscurity in certain countries, they’re phenomenally popular in Canada and North America, and with field race teams across most mountain bike disciplines from downhill and enduro right the way through to cross-country and even road. Impressive stuff. So why hasn’t Devinci broken through into mainstream brand recognition across the globe like Santa Cruz or Commencal? The answer to that question is uncertain, but it would be fair to say that there’s no reason why it shouldn’t. With eight different models of bike in its line-up, spanning those aforementioned disciplines, most are exceptionally well received — particularly the Wilson DH bike, Troy all-mountain bike and the outgoing Django trail bike. The outgoing model did receive some criticisms though, mostly focussed on its steep-ish head angle and short chainstays that come hand-in-hand with slightly nervous handling, which, while not disastrous, wasn’t ideal. And although the bike wasn’t bad by any stretch of the imagination, it was a trail bike with a heavy penchant towards XC rather than a do-it-all, epic ride slayer. For the incoming 2020 Django, it looks like Devinci has really unchained the beast...

Warriors discuss reality of no longer being NBA championship favorites

SAN FRANCISCO — Twelve months ago, Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and DeMarcus Cousins gathered together in the Warriors’ Oakland facility for a picture that documented perhaps the best starting five of all time.  Similar sights were few in far between during media day Monday afternoon. Gone was the Oakland facility, replaced by the new Biofreeze Center tucked inside the Chase Center. Gone was Durant, who helped Golden State to three Finals appearances in the last three years. And gone was the foregone conclusion that Golden State will be the last team standing in June.  “I think there’s definitely a lot of unknowns,” Warriors forward Draymond Green admitted during media day. “But it is exciting.” In front of a similar white backdrop Monday, Green posed alongside a slightly different crop of All-Stars. Cousins and Durant were replaced by D’Angelo Russell, acquired in the sign-and-trade that facilitated Durant’s departure. Russell — who averaged 21.1 points and seven assists with the Brooklyn Nets last season — is among eight new additions to the team.  Posing just to the right of Russel...

Jennifer Aniston Is “Loving” Sweaty Betty Zero Gravity Leggings These Days

Finding workout leggings that are supportive, breathable, and comfortable (not to mention cute) is no easy feat. So when Jennifer Aniston recently revealed her go-to leggings, we were all ears. In an interview for InStyle’s October issue, Aniston dished on a few of her favorite things, sharing that she loves to work out in Sweaty Betty Zero Gravity Leggings (Buy It, $115-$135, sweatybetty.com). The leggings, which Aniston deemed one of her “fitness staples,” boast the ability to sculpt your butt and keep you cool during the most high-intensity workouts, which is probably why the Morning Show star is such a big fan. (Related: These Are My Favorite Sweat-Wicking, Butt-Sculpting Running Leggings of All Time) The British activewear brand is beloved by famous faces and fitness enthusiasts alike, with celebs like Jessica Alba, Reese Witherspoon, and even Kate Middleton spotted in Sweaty Betty gear over the years. While the leggings are a bit pricey at over $100 a pop (they range from $115 to $135 per pair), the sweat-wicking, lightweight fabric means they won’t feel uncomfortable no matter what your workout entails. Gov. Kelly gets creative with Republican-run legislature | Gaz

A mix of clouds and sunshine with gusty winds developing this afternoon. High 89F. Winds S at 20 to 30 mph.. It’s starting to become apparent that Democrat Gov. Laura Kelly has devised a new tool to use to run the state that is essentially managed by a Republican-heavy Legislature. Of course, Kansas government is basically run, its policies set, its benefits delivered by a majority of a quorum in legislative committees and a majority of members of the House and Senate. Barring a veto (see last year’s two tax bills) which drives up the votes needed to override the governor, probably one of the most subtle tools is creation by a two- or three-page executive order which establishes “the Governor’s Council” on, well, whatever she wants. In the first year of her administration, Kelly has made clear that she’s using that “Governor’s Council” to propose tax policy for the state and Medicaid expansion. Now those councils are just advisory, they come up with policy for their assigned subjects and that policy is going to become the governor’s policy for the state. Nope, it doesn’t get anything passed, but those council recommendations become a fence for the Kansas Legislature, setting bou...

Some kitchen utensils are multi-taskers and often the simplest is the most versatile. There is no utensil simpler than a wooden spoon and yet it is useful for way more than stirring. As it turns out, the handle seem to have more uses than the bowl. Oven doors have a catch that allows them to stay ajar as the oven cools. There are times, though, that a recipe — meringues, for example — requires more gradual cooling/drying, which can be achieved by closing the oven door on the handle of a wooden spoon for a smaller opening. Dip the handle of a wooden spoon into oil to determine when it is hot. If bubbles form around the handle, the oil is hot. The smaller the bubbles and the faster they move, the hotter the oil. A wooden spoon placed over a pot of liquid will prevent it from foaming over by breaking the surface tension of the liquid as it reaches the top of the pot. Measure reductions. Dip the handle of a wooden spoon into the pot holding the liquid to be reduced. Put a rubber band around the spoon handle marking the level of the liquid. Re-insert the handle as the liquid cooks to check the level and know when it has reduced sufficiently. A variation on this tip: use an indelible...

A stud finder can make the difference between that framed painting hanging majestically for years to come and it crashing to the ground an hour after you hang it as a chunk of drywall rips out in the process. Many stud finders can also make the difference between you drilling a hole or hammering a nail into a water pipe, thereby turning a modest project like putting up a shelf or mounting a TV into a serious home repair almost surely involving pricey professionals. In short, a stud finder is an important tool if you value doing a job right and avoiding potentially serious mishaps. But don’t worry, this important tool is also affordable and easy to use. Many operate with the push of a single button and use easily interpreted lights to indicate the location of hidden studs. Some have an even more basic operation, simply adhering to the wall near studs thanks to magnetism. And many can also detect electrical wires, helping keep you safe and preventing accidental damage to the wiring in your home, office, or wh...
